Go public~~

I want my blog to go public by letting Google show search result from it, by freely advertise my URL in my FB or even FS. But, I frequently write too emotional post that seems to be inappropriate for my family and other people to read. I just scared of people perception towards me changed. Even if my siblings are around me in the house, I won't open my blog and if I do, I will make sure that they don't see my blog URL. I just afraid that they might read it and worry about me especially when I'm in Penang alone without them. So, I think make my blog go public when I stop writing emotional posts that make me seems weak in front of others. Plus, I won't make it too personal.

I even afraid when more and more people know my blog. It basically narrow my writing in the sense of  my openness to public. I just afraid of what they might think of me. Is this makes me a hypocrite?

I really want my blog to go public when I'm ready (when I stop writing nonsense). When will it be? I wonder...

The mystery behind this creepy-looking lizard

I have been back in Tawau for about 1 week now. The hot "kedai kopi" story here that really HOT right now is about a reptile called tokek(what the local call it) @gecko lizard. It looks like a house lizard but have unique red spots on its body. They claim that this lizard could be sold to hundred thousand ringgit and even millions because somebody said that its blood can use as medicine to treat AIDS ( I don't really know whether it's true or not, but local newspaper does state about this, Kosmo, Berita Harian and etc). The local claims that it is called tokek because it emits sound something like "tok......kekkk".The famous sound in my place right now. They made it sound so funny.Haha..

Rumors said that it must be sold alive, otherwise it will not have any value. The reptile must weigh 3 ounces or above in order for it to have the value. My dad said that some of his friend is rearing the small tokek, feed them until they grow up to required weight.

Personally I never saw one. But my parents have seen it. My father doubt at its value because no one can afford to buy it and who is going to process the blood anyway. Hmmmm....I don't know.. But I believe that many people is hunting for it right now. This species is never going to be safe in my area right now.Haha..

Few days back, Kosmo reported that someone in Kalabakan caught a 64kg of this lizard in the jungle. But the next day, an animal expert stated that gecko lizard can't reach such weight. It is just like house lizard which is just light and small.

Gecko lizard

Picture of 64kg gecko lizard that the animal expert claim to be fake (photoshop edit to increase the size of the lizard). Does it look fake to you?

Everyone in  my state show their interest in this lizard. Everyone just want to be rich. I just interested to know what is actually in this lizard blood that can interfere with the spreading of HIV virus within the cells in human body. What is the chemical structure and mechanism of action of the content of tokek blood anyway? Don't you?Fellow pharmacy students??hehehe...

Addicted to kuaci

I am currently addicted to eating kuaci. I can stand eating this non-stop for hours and not talking a long time just because my mouth is busy chewing it.

I took this from someone's blog

The taste of this delicacies just amazing. You pick one up, hold it tight using your thumb and your finger. Once you successfully cracked and opened it's shell by your teeth, the pure-white content get onto your tongue. When you start chewing it, it taste like heaven! You want to experience the taste again, you pick up another one of these tiny piece, and you repeat what you did all over again. Until countless times. This is just the art of eating kuaci.

By the time the things finished off. You will experience pain on the tip of your finger and then you realized how much time have you wasted just to consume all of that...The time seems to pass so fast..

Scary moment

Things that I feared the most when coming back home is to confront with my parents about my break-up with my ex. I really scared so I have planned what to say and what not to tell them.hmmmm.....

I can see my dad's disappointment. Maybe he already seeing my ex as my future husband.(although he never talk to him).. I explained to them what actually happen (roughly). They seem to be fine with it. (Don't worry. I care what they think of you, so I won't talk the bad things that you've done to them.) Before this, I'm the one who eagerly "promoted" my ex to my parents, trying hard to convince them that he is nice. But now, I'm ashamed of myself for it. Huhuhuhu....

I'm glad that I still have my parents' supports. They want me to concentrate 100% on my academic.

From now on, I determined to be the best daughter that they are really proud of. (Rosli, your post really made me think a lot)

Thanks all my friends for supporting me through this difficult time.

Saving my 30 cents

In USM, no cafe gives you polystyrene if you want to take away the food that you bought. Some cafes offer you transparent container that are reusable to replace polystyrene, some others gives dark colored polystyrene-look-alike-thing but it actually made up of parts from palm tree and some others will give you some kind of oil and water resistant paper so that it can be use to wrap the food that you bought.Just like in nasi lemak case. Either ways, it do fulfill the requirement of the university to prevent the usage of not biodegradable polystyrene.

The cafe that I like to go is Solihin Cafe. But each time I want to take away the food with their transparent reusable container, they will charge me 30 cents for it. Everyday I went to the same cafe and buy foods twice a day there. I take away the food most of the time. Can you imagine my wasted spending of this container it I am to buy it every single time I took away foods from the cafe? So, the solution is....I bought my own container to buy food there. Every single time.

Giving options of wrapping materials, the plastic transparent reusable containers and "fake-polystytrene" do responsible for the fading away of the culture of bringing food containers. As I have observed, students rather spend their 30 cents each time they went to the cafe, rather than bringing their own container. The choice provided just like giving them option to "escape" from the previous tiring USM campaign of bringing your own container when buying foods in the cafeteria.(it's just tiring to wash it and to hold it all the way to the cafe..kihkihkih..) When I was in the first year, I can see many people do support this campaign. But now, I feel like I'm the only want that still doing that.(Not purposely being green,I just want to save my money:-p). Plus, sometime I feel ashamed because it just looks like I'm the only one that who is still "care" of this container thing.

In addition, the cafe that sells drinks also take advantage by charging extra 10 cents every time I took away the drinks from their cafe. It just a plastic? They really can earn a lot from this plastic-selling thing. Whereas, some other cafes provide cup-like drinks container for this purpose. But of course it costs more than the plastic.

As a conclusion, let's bring our container to the cafe and also let's bring bags to Ushoppe and Supermarkets in Penang (Monday to Wednesday) or else, they will charge extra for containers and also the plastic bags!!

A money-saving tips from Ikin, the nonsense talker.

I'm in between stage 3 and 4

This post will only comprises of my opinions and not facts.

Stage one: You will suffer from extreme loneliness, feel want to cry every time you see something that made you remind of him. You always want to be alone, you will cry in your sleep and you will wake up the next morning feeling helpless.

Stage two: No more crying. You started to hate him. You are emotionally unstable, you hate to hear anything about him or hate seeing things reminded you to him. Basically, you just feel like throwing him with stones. You started to spend more time with your friends and simple being outgoing.

Stage three : You started to feel comfortable being single. You started to be convince that you have made a correct decision. But, you still think of him every time people talk about their gf or bf or when you see couple dating. At this stage, you still want to know what he is up to. Deep in your heart, you still care:-)

Stage four : You still be reminded to him when people ask about him. But most of the time, you feel like nothing had ever happened, forgetting that you used to have a bf and forgetting the fact that you had broke up with someone. You think more of other people than him. At this stahttp://www.blogger.com/post-edit.g?blogID=4418388797880209535&postID=2929799986195283278ge, you are in the safe zone. You have successfully gone through the difficult stages after breaking up! Bravo!!

I just want to show you guys that I'm happy. Can you see it from my smile? :-p

10th of Muharram.It's Tawau style!

Sunday...I thought it will be just an ordinary day . So, I asked my friend to go out for a movie with me.Planning to watch Alvin and The Chipmunk 2. But, I canceled it on the last minute because my mum woke me up early in the morning and she told me that we will go out to buy some stuff today..

It was 10th of muharram. My mom want to go to a store at Icebox in order to buy some utensils and what so ever..People believe that it is good to buy things especially kitchen-ware at this particular day..I don't really sure why..For sure, it is not included in the Empat belas perkara sunat dilakukan pada hari Asyura (10 Muharram).

Hmmm.... so, we went there.. I really shocked us to see there are so many people there.(the store is famous for selling cheap kitchen-ware). I just went there few days back with my dad. There's not so many people back then.

Here is some pictures...See it with your eyes..Everybody is busy searching for the great deal of periuk belanga..It is fun to watch..It just feel like I'm in one of those festival..Where free stuff are given to the public..It is so exciting!

It is actually a store but things are out of control as the store owner decided to put out large amount of kitchen-ware outside the store, maybe to make the store less crowded.Plus,it is easier for people to choose..

Wow...It's crazy!

Rusty...

Maybe you should call me a true tawau blogger...Wandering around just like a journalist finding good story to tell from my surrounding..hehehe...Another thing, I become better in snapping picture without people noticing. Is it a good skill?hehehehe...Finally, we went home with quite an amount of kitchen-ware..For your information, my mom is a collector of all these.

She said that, she bought excess amount of kitchen-ware so that it will be easy to hold our(me & my siblings) wedding celebrations in the future..wow!that's advance..hahaha...

Another Issue..?

I go to town today with my mom and sister. When we passed through a groceries store, my mom being greet by a chinese aunty, a friend of my mom and also the mom of my primary school classmate, Hii Yii Yew..Nothing more exciting than talking about our studies..She told me that that his son is now studying at HELP University, somewhere in peninsular, study law..and I told her about mine also..Luckily I still understand chinese language well..Haha..and be able to talk also.

Then, the aunty started to talk about the opportunity for chinese to enter matriculation college under KPM. and she said that just a few of S.M. St. patrick chinese student be able to enter it..and she asked me, whether there are lots of chinese back in my matriculation academic session and I said that there's quite a number but there is a "kuota" for non-bumi to enter the matriculation.

She started to say that government don't like them because they don't be supported financially by the government.I just kept quite and a little disagree with that statement and my mom started to say simply say that, because you all got lots of money maa, unlike us..need to depend on the government's help. Hehehe..Then the aunty said, you see..I have to carry all these boxes (filled with stuffs) to earn money to support my children's studies.(For your info, she owned that groceries store).

I noticed that chinese prefer to enter private college and that's why it costs a lot..and also they don't prefer to take LOAN unlike us which need to borrow money to further study..There's no difference, it is only the matter of paying the fees now or later..and also, private college or government's.To enter government university is not difficult, it is only the matter of interest to proceed study there..If they can't get into matriculation under KPM, they still have form 6, there is no "kuota" for non-bumi in form 6.The aunty is very friendly though..

To know the truth, we must hear from both side right? I think about the aunty's complain and I also have my own personal thought on this issue..Training myself to think rationally..:-)

So...What do you think?

Tooth Paste Issue..

Did you notice contradictory between different brands of toothpaste commercials in tv these days? I wouldn't notice it if someone hasn't told me about the "floride issue".

Few weeks back, someone asked me about the brand of toothpaste that I used.I just answered him truthfully, and he eventually tell me about the negative effects of toothpaste that contains floride. I started to give him feedback by telling him that I have growing till this time, all my childhood I've been exposed with tv commercial that stated, floride is GOOD for teeth. I can't simply change my mindset about it. He started to give me many websites url about this issue.. I surfed a few, it was quite convincing and once, I have try to look for the toothpaste without floride while shopping for groceries with my mom. Unfortunately, I can't find any.. Then, I started to ignore the issue, still using toothpaste with floride, the same brand that I have used as long as I can remember.

My friend told me that when we brush our teeth, off course we will swallowed some of the toothpaste, and if the tooth paste contains floride, that means we swallowed some amount of floride EVERYDAY. Floride is toxic for body in a large dose. Due to the consumption of floride daily, plus drinking the tap water (mixed with floride during the filteration process), there is a high risk that our body accumulate a large amout of floride that eventually leads to many health risks.

He suggested some brand of tooth paste that not contain floride. As I said earlier, I've tried to find it, but I didn't manage to get one.Maybe I don't really give real effort to that.

Why don't you all start to focus on tooth paste tv commercial these days....
There is one brand of tooth paste commercial that emphasize about the NO FLORIDE in their product possibly because of this issue and another one shows a scene where a customer have problem with their teeth because all these days they have used NO FLORIDE tooth paste, then a man wearing a white coat started to give advice and suggested that they should use XXXX brand of tooth paste because it contains FLORIDE which is GOOD for teeth..So, which one should we believe then?

There's an episode of CSI where a wife consumed two packs of EXTRA-FLORIDE tooth paste, and she dies due to overdose.I've discussed this with my bf, we do believe that overdose of floride can kill someone, but about just brushing teeth can cause health risk?? I have not believe in it totally..Still in search for an answer.

I will look for more information about these issue. When talking about BELIEVING, I think it should be EVIDENCE-BASED. Shouldn't it?
